Every day, dedicated staff and volunteers at the Humane Society of St. Joseph County work tirelessly to care for dogs, cats, and other pets who need homes. But shelters can’t do it alone—they need our community’s support.
That’s why we’re proud to announce our participation in the 2025 Injury Board Day of Action: The Helping Paws Initiative.
What Is IB Helping Paws Initiative?
We’re glad you asked! We’re thrilled to be part of this year’s IB Day of Action: The Helping Paws Initiative—a nationwide effort to support local animal shelters and encourage pet adoption. Our firm is joining other firms across the country to gather much-needed supplies to help shelter animals waiting to find the loving homes they deserve.
How You Can Help
From now through October 21, the Pfeifer, Morgan & Stesiak team is collecting essential pet supplies for animals right here in our community. Whether it’s a bag of kibble, a cozy, gently used blanket (no pillows please), or a few toys to brighten a lonely kennel, every donation makes a real difference in a shelter animal’s life.
Here’s how to contribute:
Drop off donations at our office during business hours. We’re accepting:
- Dry or canned dog or cat food (Iams or Purina only)
- Kitty litter (clumping, unscented in any brand)
- Treats
- Toys
- Leashes
- Other pet essentials that shelters need most
Shop our Amazon Wish List to have supplies delivered directly to our office. It’s convenient, and you’ll know exactly what’s needed.
Why This Matters
Just like the clients we serve, shelter animals often find themselves in difficult circumstances through no fault of their own. They’re looking for someone to stand up for them, to give them hope, and to help them move forward.
We built our practice on the belief that everyone deserves an advocate when times are tough. Extending that compassion to animals in need feels like a natural extension of who we are and what we stand for.
Stop by our office or send your donation directly from our Amazon wish list before October 21. Together, we can help give every shelter pet at the Humane Society of St. Joseph’s County the second chance they deserve.
Because everyone—two-legged or four—deserves someone in their corner.
